Commercial Pipework Project

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire

Our Project Overview

With colder months approaching, this project focused on safeguarding external pipework through the installation of a new trace heating system. The existing setup was no longer fit for purpose — the old lagging had deteriorated, and the previous trace heating system was found to be faulty.

Our team removed all outdated materials and carried out a full renewal, ensuring the pipework is well protected against freezing temperatures.

The new system has been designed for reliability and long-term performance, with only final weatherproofing left to complete before the project is signed off.

To further improve efficiency and hygiene, we also installed two solenoid valves operated by a timer, tailored to meet the building’s demand. This addition helps to eliminate the risk of stagnation within the pipework, reducing the likelihood of legionella — an important consideration in commercial and residential environments alike.

Once completed, the upgraded trace heating and fresh lagging will ensure that external pipework remains fully operational throughout winter, with no unexpected interruptions. A proactive approach like this prevents costly issues down the line — because when it comes to plumbing and heating, prevention is always better than cure.
